The asset manager Bantleon is strengthening its Bond Management and Economic Research units with the addition of two new specialists: Michael Hess as Head of Portfolio Management Corporate Credit and Jörg Angelé as Senior Analyst Economic Research.
Michael Hess is responsible for the analysis and management of corporate bonds in the »Bantleon Funds« with a focus on global investment-grade bonds. His tasks also include implementing credit derivatives strategies in the total return and absolute return approaches. He has 12 years’ experience as a portfolio manager and credit analyst with Swiss Life Asset Management in Zurich as well as DWS and Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management in Frankfurt.
Jörg Angelé is responsible in particular for analysing the economic environment and forecasting macroeconomic trends in the Eurozone and Switzerland. He also forecasts the monetary policy of the European Central Bank and the Swiss National Bank. He has 14 years’ experience in economic research. Before joining Bantleon, he worked for Raiffeisenbank International AG in Vienna and Bayerische Landesbank in Munich. Like Bantleon’s Chief Economist Dr. Daniel Hartmann and US Analyst Dr. Andreas A. Busch, Jörg Angelé has been named as one of the world’s best analysts for a number of years by the data providers Bloomberg and Thomson Reuters.
»By hiring these new specialists, we are strengthening our core capabilities in bond management,« explains Stephan Kuhnke, Head of Asset Management. He elaborates: »The importance of global corporate bonds as building blocks in the asset allocation of institutional investors will continue to grow in the coming years. With this in mind, we are expanding our Credit Management and broadening the basis for our successful top-down management of duration and spreads by further strengthening our award-winning Economic Research.«
