Reuters once again awards »Bantleon Chief Economist« as best economic analyst for three regions

The economic research team at Bantleon continues to lead the field of the world’s best forecasters: Chief Economist Dr. Daniel Hartmann has once again been ranked first for the Eurozone and Germany in the LSEG StarMine Awards for 2024, organised by the Reuters news agency. In France, he has regained the top position from 2022 and is thus at the top of the podium for three regions. According to Reuters, the economic research team at Bantleon, consisting of Chief Economist Dr. Daniel Hartmann, Senior Economist Dr. Andreas Busch and Capital Market Strategist Dr. Harald Preißler, has consistently been among the world’s best forecasters since 2015.

»The work of our economists is not an end in itself, but helps us to identify turning points in the economic cycle at an early stage and thus reliably forecast the overarching financial market trends,« explains Stephan Kuhnke, Head of Asset Management at Bantleon. »That is why they are constantly working to ensure a consistently high quality of forecasting.«

The current Reuters ranking is based on the evaluation of estimates for a country’s most important economic indicators. In the Eurozone, these are the purchasing managers’ indices (services and industry), GDP, inflation rate, unemployment rate and consumer confidence. In Germany, the ifo index and incoming industrial orders are also included. The forecasts are regularly attended by 30 to 40 analysts/ companies, including Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, HSBC, Barclays, BBVA, Citigroup, Deutsche Bank, Commerzbank, DekaBank and LBBW. A model is used to evaluate which forecaster has provided the most accurate forecasts over time.
