Two Bantleon economists are ranked among the best forecasters in the world for the US, France and Germany according to the »Thomson Reuters Starmine Awards«. »Thomson Reuters« has thus confirmed the view of data provider »Bloomberg«, which has praised the two analysts’ exceptional forecasting skills for a number of years.
- Bantleon Analyst Dr Andreas Busch was placed second out of more than 100 experts, one place higher than in 2015, for the forecasts he provided to »Reuters« in 2016 for the key US macroeconomic and inflation indicators. »Bloomberg« has rated him as one of the world’s top ten forecasters for the US since 2013.
- Bantleon Chief Economist Dr Daniel Hartmann ranked fourth among 60 competitors in the Thomson Reuters' forecast for key economic and inflation indicators for the Eurozone in 2017. In 2017, he was first among 40 experts for France (2016: first rank) and seventh out of 50 competitors with his forecasts for German indicators (2016: third rank). According to Bloomberg he has been one of the seven best forecasters globally since 2011 and regularly ranks among the »top five« (2011: first, 2014 and 2017: second).
Both »Bloomberg« and »Thomson Reuters« regularly name the world’s leading experts in terms of the accuracy of their forecasts concerning trends in the biggest economies. To produce their ranking lists, they look at a range of key indicators over a period of one year (»Thomson Reuters«) or two years (»Bloomberg«) and select the forecasters whose assessments have been close to spot-on most often. The indicators used include unemployment, gross domestic product, retail sales, industrial production and the consumer price index.
